What to Expect at Your Baby's First Chiropractic Visit
Bringing your newborn in for their first visit can feel like a big step, especially if you've never taken your baby to a chiropractor before and aren't quite sure what actually happens once you're in the room. Here's exactly what to expect, start to finish.
Before you even arrive
We'll email you paperwork ahead of time so you're not filling anything out with a fussy baby in your lap in the waiting room. Feel free to bring a diaper bag, a bottle, whatever keeps your baby comfortable, we're used to visits that don't go exactly on schedule.
The consultation
We'll talk through your baby's birth history, feeding, sleep, and anything you've noticed, nothing is too small to mention. A lot of parents worry a concern is "not a big deal," but small patterns are often exactly what's worth talking through.
The INSiGHT scan
A simple, non-invasive nervous system scan built for infants, giving us real information rather than a guess. It doesn't hurt, there are no needles, and most babies barely notice it's happening.
The doctor's report of findings
Dr. Paulson walks you through exactly what we found and what, if anything, we recommend, honestly, without pressure. If we don't think care is the right fit for your baby, we'll say so directly.
The adjustment, if recommended
If care is recommended, we often use the Torque Release Technique, a gentle, instrument-assisted method well suited to newborns. It doesn't involve any manual force, and most babies stay perfectly calm through it, some even fall asleep.
After your visit
You'll leave with a clear plan, not a vague "come back sometime." If follow-up visits are recommended, we'll walk through exactly what that looks like and why, so nothing feels open-ended.
